Community Care Initiative · March

Social Workers

Recognizing those who advocate for our communities every day.

This group is honored each March. The $56 New Patient Special is available to new patients year-round — see who's featured this month.

Social work in West Michigan means windshield time. Home visits in Ottawa County, court in Kalamazoo, a school meeting in Muskegon — then documentation from a laptop balanced on the passenger seat.

Driving posture and car-seat ergonomics are a genuine clinical issue, not a footnote. Add the emotional weight of the caseload and the body starts keeping score.

March is Social Work Month nationally, and it's ours locally too.

What the work does

Why this job shows up in your spine.

Every profession loads the body a specific way. Here's what we see most in this group.

Windshield time

Car seats put the pelvis in a slouch and the head forward. Hours of it stiffens the mid back and neck.

Laptop anywhere

Charting from a car, a lobby, or a kitchen table means no desk setup ever supports you.

Carried stress

Hard visits leave the nervous system braced. Sleep and jaw tension are usually the first signs.

Questions

Social workers: common questions

I'm a case manager, not an LMSW. Am I included?

Yes. If your job is walking alongside families and clients, this month is for you.

Which clinic is easiest if I'm in the field all day?

Pick the one closest to your route — Zeeland, Portage, or Muskegon. All three run the same program.

Who qualifies?

Anyone who is part of the community group we're currently featuring. Each month recognizes a different profession or role. Both new patients and existing Back To Health patients from that group are welcome to participate.

What does the visit cost?

New patients in the honored group get our $56 New Patient Special — consultation and exam, digital X-rays if clinically needed, and your report of findings. That's it. No deposit, no hidden fees, and nothing due before you arrive.

Is there a deposit?

No. There is no deposit and no prepayment. You pay $56 at the clinic on the day of your visit.

Can I nominate someone?

Yes — and we love when people do. Use the Nominate Someone form to tell us about a coworker, friend, or family member who deserves to be recognized. We'll reach out gently and let them decide if it's right for them.

Can I nominate myself?

Absolutely. If you're part of the group we're currently honoring, just complete the reservation form.

How do I reserve a spot?

Complete the short reservation form and choose the clinic closest to you. You'll be sent straight to that clinic's online scheduling page to pick your time, and our team will confirm.
