Conditions we treat
Postpartum Chiropractic Recovery in West Michigan
After delivery your pelvis, core and upper back all need attention. We help West Michigan parents recover alignment, strength and pain-free movement.
The pelvis doesn't snap back the day after delivery, and the new demands of feeding, lifting and carrying are relentless. Postpartum care addresses both the recovery and the brand-new load you've just taken on.
Symptoms we hear about
- Low back, tailbone or SI joint pain that persists after delivery
- Neck, mid-back and shoulder pain from feeding and carrying positions
- A core that feels weak, disconnected or unstable
- Wrist and thumb pain from lifting the baby
- Pelvic pain or a feeling of instability with walking
What's usually driving it
Ligaments remain lax for months after delivery, so the pelvis is still more mobile than it was pre-pregnancy while you're doing more lifting than ever. Meanwhile the deep core and glutes are deconditioned, so the load lands on joints instead of muscle. Add hours a day of a rounded feeding posture and the upper back and neck join in.
How we treat postpartum recovery
- 01Pelvic and spinal assessment for post-delivery alignment and stability
- 02Gentle adjusting of the pelvis, low back and the mid-back and neck taking the feeding load
- 03Soft tissue therapy for the hips, upper back, forearms and thumbs
- 04Progressive deep core and glute rehab appropriate to how long since delivery
- 05Feeding, carrying and babywearing positioning that reduces daily strain

FAQ
Postpartum Recovery: common questions
How soon after delivery can I come in?
Many parents come within the first few weeks for gentle care, especially if pain is limiting them. We adjust our approach to how your recovery is going and whether you had a C-section.
Can you help with abdominal separation?
We assess it and guide progressive core rehab, and we refer to pelvic floor physical therapy when that's the right specialist for your case.
Can I bring my baby to appointments?
Absolutely — our clinics are used to it, and we can check your little one at the same visit if you'd like.
Do I need a referral to be seen?
No. You can book directly with any of our three clinics in Zeeland, Portage or Norton Shores (Muskegon). If we think you need imaging or another provider, we'll tell you and help coordinate it.
Do you take insurance?
We're in-network with most major plans and we verify your benefits before your first adjustment so there are no surprises. Cash and payment-plan options are available too — see our insurance and payment FAQs.
How soon can I get in?
Most new patients are seen within a few days, not weeks. Book online for the clinic closest to you or call and we'll find the first available exam slot.
