Pregnancy Back & Pelvic Pain Relief in Zeeland, Portage & Muskegon

Back and pelvic pain during pregnancy isn't something you have to endure. Our Webster-trained doctors provide gentle care through every trimester.

Back and pelvic pain affects most pregnancies, and being told it's just part of the deal isn't good enough. Gentle, pregnancy-specific chiropractic care is one of the safest and most effective options available during pregnancy.

Symptoms we hear about

  • Low back pain that intensifies through the second and third trimesters
  • Sharp pain over the tailbone or one side of the pelvis
  • Pain rolling over in bed, climbing stairs or getting out of the car
  • Pubic bone pain with walking or standing on one leg
  • Sciatica-type pain down one leg

What's usually driving it

Relaxin loosens the pelvic ligaments to prepare for delivery, so the SI joints and pubic symphysis move more than they're used to. Add a shifting center of gravity and a growing forward pull on the low back, and the joints that are now less stable get loaded harder. Pain comes from those joints and the muscles working overtime to stabilize them.

FAQ

Prenatal Back & Pelvic Pain: common questions

Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?

Yes. Techniques are modified for pregnancy, we use tables and cushions designed for a growing belly, and we never put pressure on the abdomen. It's widely recommended as a conservative option during pregnancy.

When should I start?

Any time. Many patients start in the first trimester for prevention, others come in the third when pain shows up. Earlier generally means easier.

Will I hear popping near my belly?

No. Prenatal adjusting is gentle and specific, often using low-force techniques, and nothing is done over your abdomen.

Do I need a referral to be seen?

No. You can book directly with any of our three clinics in Zeeland, Portage or Norton Shores (Muskegon). If we think you need imaging or another provider, we'll tell you and help coordinate it.

Do you take insurance?

We're in-network with most major plans and we verify your benefits before your first adjustment so there are no surprises. Cash and payment-plan options are available too — see our insurance and payment FAQs.

How soon can I get in?

Most new patients are seen within a few days, not weeks. Book online for the clinic closest to you or call and we'll find the first available exam slot.
