Conditions we treat
Wrist & Hand Pain Treatment in Zeeland, Portage & Muskegon
Wrist stiffness, thumb pain and hand aches respond to joint work and tendon care. We assess the whole chain from neck to fingertip.
Your wrist is eight small bones that need to glide against each other. When a few of them stop moving properly, the tendons crossing the joint take up the slack and become irritated — producing pain that never quite settles with rest.
Symptoms we hear about
- Aching or sharp pain with pushing, twisting or bearing weight on the hand
- Stiffness and reduced wrist extension
- Thumb-side pain with pinching or lifting a child
- Clicking or catching in a finger or thumb
- Grip that fatigues quickly through the day
What's usually driving it
Repetitive computer, tool and phone use loads the wrist in a small, fixed range. The carpal bones stiffen, wrist extensor and flexor tendons overwork, and the thumb tendons — especially in new parents — become inflamed where they cross the wrist. Neck and shoulder dysfunction can add to the picture by irritating the same nerves that supply the hand.

FAQ
Wrist & Hand Pain: common questions
Is this carpal tunnel?
Carpal tunnel is a nerve problem with numbness and night symptoms. Joint and tendon pain without numbness is different, and it's treated differently — so the exam is the first step.
I have thumb pain since having a baby. Normal?
Very common. Repeated lifting with the thumb out irritates the tendons crossing the thumb side of the wrist. It responds well to taping, load changes and soft tissue care.
Do you adjust wrists?
Yes. Extremity adjusting is a standard part of what we do — wrists, elbows, shoulders, hips, knees, ankles and feet.
Do I need a referral to be seen?
No. You can book directly with any of our three clinics in Zeeland, Portage or Norton Shores (Muskegon). If we think you need imaging or another provider, we'll tell you and help coordinate it.
Do you take insurance?
We're in-network with most major plans and we verify your benefits before your first adjustment so there are no surprises. Cash and payment-plan options are available too — see our insurance and payment FAQs.
How soon can I get in?
Most new patients are seen within a few days, not weeks. Book online for the clinic closest to you or call and we'll find the first available exam slot.
