Fibromyalgia Support in Zeeland, Portage & Muskegon

Gentle chiropractic care for fibromyalgia: reducing joint and muscle pain drivers, improving sleep and mobility without aggravating sensitivity.

Fibromyalgia is a central sensitization condition — the volume knob on pain processing is turned up. Chiropractic care doesn't cure it, but reducing the mechanical pain input coming from stiff joints and tight tissue lowers the total load your nervous system is handling.

Symptoms we hear about

  • Widespread muscle pain and tenderness on both sides of the body
  • Fatigue that isn't relieved by sleep
  • Brain fog and difficulty concentrating
  • Stiffness that's worst in the morning
  • Heightened sensitivity to pressure, temperature and noise

What's usually driving it

The pain amplification is central, but the input feeding it is often peripheral: restricted spinal segments, chronic muscle guarding, poor sleep posture. Care that respects sensitivity — low force, small doses, gradual progression — reduces that input without provoking a flare.

How we treat fibromyalgia support

  1. 01A conversation about your sensitivity thresholds before we touch anything
  2. 02Low-force adjusting techniques — drop table, instrument-assisted — instead of aggressive manual work
  3. 03Gentle soft tissue work in short sessions, dosed carefully
  4. 04Sleep position, gentle movement and pacing strategies
  5. 05Co-management with your physician or rheumatologist

FAQ

Fibromyalgia Support: common questions

Will adjustments make me flare?

They can if we do too much too fast, which is why we start small and increase only when you tolerate it well. You set the pace.

Can chiropractic cure fibromyalgia?

No. It can reduce the joint and muscle pain layered on top of it, which for many patients meaningfully improves daily function and sleep.

Is exercise safe for me?

Yes, when it's gently graded. Very low-dose, consistent movement is one of the most reliably helpful things for fibromyalgia — jumping in too hard is what causes trouble.

Do I need a referral to be seen?

No. You can book directly with any of our three clinics in Zeeland, Portage or Norton Shores (Muskegon). If we think you need imaging or another provider, we'll tell you and help coordinate it.

Do you take insurance?

We're in-network with most major plans and we verify your benefits before your first adjustment so there are no surprises. Cash and payment-plan options are available too — see our insurance and payment FAQs.

How soon can I get in?

Most new patients are seen within a few days, not weeks. Book online for the clinic closest to you or call and we'll find the first available exam slot.
