Conditions we treat
Concussion Recovery Support in Zeeland, Portage & Muskegon
Post-concussion headaches, neck pain and dizziness often come from the neck injury that accompanied the hit. We treat that alongside your medical care.
Almost nobody gets a concussion without also injuring their neck — the same force that shook the brain whipped the cervical spine. Research increasingly shows that lingering post-concussion symptoms are often driven by that neck injury, which is very treatable.
Symptoms we hear about
- Headaches persisting weeks after the injury
- Neck pain and stiffness alongside the head symptoms
- Dizziness, light-headedness or visual-motion sensitivity
- Brain fog, poor concentration and irritability
- Fatigue disproportionate to activity, and disrupted sleep
What's usually driving it
Cervical joint and muscle injury generates headache, dizziness and even concentration symptoms independent of the brain injury itself. Because the upper cervical spine feeds heavily into balance and eye-movement control, an injured neck produces symptoms that look exactly like prolonged concussion — and they persist until the neck is addressed.

FAQ
Concussion Recovery Support: common questions
Is it safe to be adjusted after a concussion?
Once you've been medically cleared for hands-on care, yes — and we use gentle, low-force techniques for the neck. We coordinate with your physician rather than working around them.
Are you treating the brain injury?
No. We treat the neck injury that came with it, which is often what's still generating headaches, dizziness and stiffness weeks later.
When should I go to the ER instead?
Worsening headache, repeated vomiting, confusion, unequal pupils, seizure or increasing drowsiness after a head injury are emergencies. Go immediately.
Do I need a referral to be seen?
No. You can book directly with any of our three clinics in Zeeland, Portage or Norton Shores (Muskegon). If we think you need imaging or another provider, we'll tell you and help coordinate it.
Do you take insurance?
We're in-network with most major plans and we verify your benefits before your first adjustment so there are no surprises. Cash and payment-plan options are available too — see our insurance and payment FAQs.
How soon can I get in?
Most new patients are seen within a few days, not weeks. Book online for the clinic closest to you or call and we'll find the first available exam slot.
