Conditions we treat
Kids' Posture & Growing Pain Care in Zeeland, Portage & Muskegon
Backpacks, screens, sports and growth spurts all load a growing spine. We provide gentle chiropractic care for kids and teens at three clinics.
Kids today sit more than any generation before them, then sprint into a growth spurt and a competitive sports schedule. Gentle chiropractic care for children focuses on movement, posture habits and catching problems before they become adult problems.
Symptoms we hear about
- Complaints of back or neck aching after school or screens
- Noticeable forward head and rounded shoulder posture
- Leg or knee pain during growth spurts
- One shoulder or hip visibly higher than the other
- Sports-related aches that recur in the same spot
What's usually driving it
During growth spurts, bones lengthen before muscles catch up, so everything is temporarily tight and mechanics change fast. Layer on heavy backpacks, hours of screen flexion and single-sport specialization, and stress concentrates in the same places every day. Growing tissue adapts to whatever position it spends the most time in.

FAQ
Pediatric Posture & Growing Pains: common questions
Why would a child need chiropractic care?
For the same mechanical reasons adults do — restricted joints, sports injuries and postural strain — just addressed with far gentler technique. We also screen for scoliosis during growth years.
Are 'growing pains' normal?
Some aching during growth spurts is common. Pain that's one-sided, persistent, night-waking or associated with limping needs an exam, not reassurance.
How gentle is it really?
Very. Children's adjustments use a fraction of adult force, often with an instrument or fingertip pressure, and most kids describe it as easy.
Do I need a referral to be seen?
No. You can book directly with any of our three clinics in Zeeland, Portage or Norton Shores (Muskegon). If we think you need imaging or another provider, we'll tell you and help coordinate it.
Do you take insurance?
We're in-network with most major plans and we verify your benefits before your first adjustment so there are no surprises. Cash and payment-plan options are available too — see our insurance and payment FAQs.
How soon can I get in?
Most new patients are seen within a few days, not weeks. Book online for the clinic closest to you or call and we'll find the first available exam slot.
